When I was asked to paint a scene of Montreal I immediately thought of Old Montreal because of its history
and character. After I searched through a number of old photos that I had taken when I lived there, I came up
with a scene at the corner of St Amable. Quite a few years have past since I first took that photograph but
I think the painting depicts the ambiance of Old Montreal that I was trying to capture.
