God's Glory

As the sunlight dances through the trees
there's a fragrance of autumn in the breeze.
Our land will flourish as nature planned
as from the start of time by God's Hand.
Landscapes change in colour as autumn leaves fall
skipping their way down to the earth from trees so tall.
The summer seasons always finishes with an incalculable story
unfolding brilliant colours with a burst of God's Glory.

I love the autumn season, with its overwhelming colours, flooding one's view as far as the eye can see. The poem and painting titled God's Glory was inspired by an early morning stroll I took along the side a small creek in the Vermont mountains. It felt so nice to be away from the hustle and bustle and noise of city life. I just sat and listened to the sounds of nature which were surrounding me like a warm comfortable blanket. A slight breeze would skip across the tops of the trees pushing the leaves from their summer foundations. You could hear them falling through the limbs and branches making their way slowly down to the ever changing carpet below. The fast running water in the creek sounded just like a marching army on a cobbled stoned street to an unchanging rhythm. Some of the falling leaves would softly settle on the creek and be swept away like sailboats on a spinnaker run being pushed almost to the point of unbalance. Others would slow down as they came to a rock, just waiting their turn to be sucked into the fast churning waters. It's a shame that such a beautiful season is so short, but I guess it needs a lot of rest to put on such a splendid show each year. The original painting is the only one that my family won't let me sell. The reason being, I painted a small Rabbit somewhere in it. It took so long for my wife and two daughters to find it, they now claim it as their painting. Can you find it?
